Movement is a Brick: for performers

Welcome 🙂 Let’s move, let’s build that dance performance together.

The public choreographic proposal you find at Movement is a Brick. What follows is a choreographic proposal for the performers.

When doing Movement is a Brick, I am interested in exploring what happens when we give priority in the communication to the kinethetic level, ie movement level. Or put simply: if we use as a main medium of communication between performers, public and other more than human beings, space, architecture… well, anything.

The minimum is to meet on the day of the performance. We meet in the morning and have a look at the space we will perform and talk and dance and go for a lunch together. Then we have a break and we meet again at least one hour before the performance.

Half an hour before the performance we start with the performance, ie communicate on a kinesthetic level and building the dance Movement is a Brick. When public is arriving we keep on dancing already communicating with people on a kinesthetic level.

At the certain moment – we, the performers, communicate it through the moevement level – we make a break. In that break we have a drink, maybe eat something and also mingle, talk with people.

Again after a while – again we talk to each other when to continue – we do the second session of Movement is a Brick where we, again, construct dance on a kinethetic level.

We communicate the end on a movement level.

After the end we continue to mingle, if we wish so, and have a dinner together.

The fee for the collaboration is 250€ neto. Per diem is in form of two meals (lunch and dinner). Travel costs are also covered. In case of sleeping over, also costs of the accommodations are covered.

It would be great that we meet at least one day before the performance and sleep over after the performance. That means that it would take you the whole thing three days.
